Three Ursinus students placed in the Early Leaders Case competition at University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, in November. Accompanied by Associate Professor of Business and Economics Carol Cirka, Ursinus students joined students from colleges and universities from around the country in this annual event at the Simon Graduate School of Business that requires intensive teamwork over a 24-hour period to analyze a real business challenge, develop a strategic solution, and formally present recommendations to a panel of judges.

Ursinus students who competed on winning teams were Frank Sirch, First place team;  Richard Hershey, Second place team and Dani Tersaga, Third place team. Vince Discepola and Taylor Allen were on teams which received honorable mentions.

The teams competed for prize money with students from 15 colleges .  Students also had an opportunity to hear from current Simon students about their prior experiences in this competition, and how it helped prepare them for the Simon MBA program. The judging panel, comprised of business school faculty and MBA students, commented on the high quality of the contestants.

The Simon Business School at the University of Rochester has a Direct Admission Partnership (DAP) relationship with Ursinus College. Ursinus students who wish to pursue their graduate business studies immediately following graduation can apply to the Simon School and receive benefits including a waived application fee, special merit scholarship consideration, and priority admission consideration.
