The Lenfest Gallery at the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art is showing photographs of the recent Museum expansion until Oct. 1. The planning and opening of the new Henry W. 1948 and June Pfeiffer Wing is documented in large- and small-scale photographs of the work as it progressed, and the donors, staff and students who made it possible. As the Museum prepares to welcome a new director, we can reflect on the progress during the last few years. The exhibition is curated by Emily Smith, a 2011 alumna, and students and Berman summer intersn Clara-Ann Joyce and Brie McGuire.
The Museum, known for its diverse collection and innovative education programming, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and sunday. The Museum is closed Mondays and college holidays. The Museum is accessible to the physically disable and admission if free. The Museum is accredited by the American Ssociation of Museums. Exhibitions and programs are funded in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
