Museum Ed Director Will Join Accessibility Teleconference

Susan Shifrin, Associate Director for Education at the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art, will be a guest expert in a “Telephone Conference Crash Course” Oct. 29  for the Art Beyond Sight organization based in New York City. Her session will address “Small Museums and Audience Research and Engagement” at 11 a.m. This free telephone conference crash course is an annual event and a highlight of Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month, an international initiative to promote the need for and benefits of making art and culture accessible to all. This telephone conference call has been taking place since 2002. Over the years the crash course attracted a very diverse
audience that includes museum educators, docents, curators, art teachers, art lovers with disabilities, artists, designers and assistive technology experts. It coincides with new accessibility initiatives at the Berman, including the exhibition “Access-ability.”
