Ursinus College is holding its 14th annual Fringe Festival Sept. 18 through Sept. 21, modeled after the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Professor of Theater Domenick Scudera and Assistant Professor of Dance Jeanine McCain are co-producing the event.
Experimental and creative performances will include dance, theater, cabaret and sketch and improvisation. The four-day festival is free, with performances at day and night times. All events are in the Kaleidoscope Blackbox Studio Theater (unless otherwise noted) and are free and open to the public. No reservations for performances are necessary. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 19 Sketch Comedy

The Waitstaff Sketch Comedy Troupe, Happy Hour
See Philadelphia’s premiere sketch comedy troupe perform their latest original show. This show is currently playing in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival to sold-out houses. The Waitstaff’s troupe of writers/performers bring this hilarious new show to Ursinus for one night only!

Hip Hop Lecture/Demonstration and Open Class with Clyde Evans (Helfferich Dance Studio)
Philly Guest Artist Dance Night with choreography by Eun Jung Choi, Jenn Rose, Melissa Chisena and Clyde Evans. Don’t miss the chance to see the work of these professional dance artists!
Followed by an OPEN DANCE PARTY with Clyde Evans!
SATURDAY, SEPT. 21 Comedy Improvisation and Fringe
- 3:30 p.m.
Comedy Improv performance. Master improvisers Karen Getz and Kelly Jennings (from ComedySportz Philly, Lunch Lady Doris and other improv troupes) perform as their alter-egos Gwendolyn and Cecily in this fully improvised, 90-minute show. Working with the audience to find inspiration, Gwendolyn and Cecily will create a hilarious performance on the spot!
Comedy Improv Workshop / Master Class. Karen Getz and Kelly Jennings lead this special 2.5 hour workshop for a limited amount of lucky Ursinus students. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn more about improv!
