A Jingle Jog and Holiday Happenings event on Saturday, Dec. 7, offers fun for Collegeville residents. At 3 p.m., the Jingle Jog 5K Race starts at Collegeville Station on W. Third Ave., and winds through the streets of Collegeville and the Perkiomen Trail. Registration for the race begins at 2 p.m. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and to males and females in the following age groups: under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over (overall winners not eligible for age group awards). The Holiday Bazaar will open in the trail parking lot on E. Third Ave. next to DaVinci’s Pub, where non-racers can enjoy searching for unique gifts and games, as well as the hot mid-afternoon barbeque and hot and cold refreshments served by the volunteers of the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation. From 4 to 6 p.m. carols will be presented by The Community Music School and The Dance Depot, along with other local musical talent. From 5 to 5:15 p.m., Santa arrives down Main Street in his sleigh, followed by a tree lighting.
Following the festivities, everyone is invited to warm up at DaVinci’s Pub next to the trail parking lot, where those over age 21 can enjoy a reception with complimentary beverages. For more details click here!
On Sunday, Dec. 8, the Collegeville Holiday House Tour is back for a second year from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors will be welcomed into eight distinctive homes. Your Holiday House Tour invitation includes touring the homes in any order, enjoying the hospitality of the homeowners and the gracious spirit of the season, getting ideas for holiday decorating and participating in the House Tour Reception.
At 5 p.m., the reception begins at Community Music School for tour guests to warm up and enjoy appetizers, meet neighbors, drink hot cider or mulled wine, and enjoy shopping at a Silent Auction. Cost of registration for the tour and reception is $25 per person. Click here for tickets.
