Meistersingers Perform at Phillies Game

Sunday night at Citizen’s Bank Park, the Ursinus College Meistersingers performed the National Anthem before the game between¬†the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Meistersingers is a choral ensemble open by audition. Founded more than 100 years ago, it is under the direction of Professor John French, holder of the Heefner Chair of Music. The group is frequently invited to sing the national anthem.

  1. Balance of voices and instruments was a very nice touch. Sun glasses were a hoot. UC we are proud of you. A Meistersinger from Long Ago…

  2. Very fine rendition of our national anthem. Wish I could have been there in person to enjoy the performance and the UC event at the Phillies. You made us old time alumni proud. Thank you.

  3. Let me echo Bill Graver. I’m sorry that I reside 1,000 miles away and do not have many opportunities to enjoy those now gracing our Alma Mater. As a former Meistersinger, I applaud the kids representing all of us Bears, and encourage each to honor and carry our name to the four corners of the globe. Great performance. Go Bears!
