Ursinus Dancers Present ‘Between the Lines’

The Ursinus College Dance Company presents its spring concert, Between the Lines, April 18 through 20, at 7:30 p.m., in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center’s Lenfest Theater.

There will be a talk-back with the performers, musicians and professional choreographers after Thursday evening’s performance.

Between the LinesThe concert is inspired by stories featuring student performers in works by dance faculty Karen Clemente and Jeanine McCain, and professional guest artists Melissa Chisena, Jeannine Osayande & the Dunya Performing Arts Co., and Susan Levine.  The concert includes original music compositions by Ursinus music faculty Garrett Hope and professional composers Ira Bond and Jonathan Cannon.

A special feature of Between the Lines is live music performed by both professional and student musicians.

The dances tell stories of family bonds and adventures; African ceremonies; jazz clubs in the 1940’s; individual milestones; uncovered past histories; and the media representation of women throughout history.
