Student Wins Prize for Her Fiction

English and Politics major Sophie Zander has won the Grand Prize for short fiction from the Pell Center Public Storyteller Contest at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island.

She received the award April 12. The judges wrote, “The  story, A Boy, was part of a “remarkable group of entrants that evoked emotion and compassion. You should feel very proud that you were selected for this honor.”

Sophie, a member of the Class of 2014, is Vice President of the Haines-Barnard Pre-Law Society and is a Legal Studies Center Intern.
