Wind Ensemble Performs Music from ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Stars and Stripes’

The Ursinus College Wind Ensemble presents its fall concert on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center’s Lenfest Theater. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Conducted by Holly Hubbs, Associate Professor of Music, the ensemble will present a program featuring a mix of standard and new compositions for wind band. New works on the program will be a suite of composer Howard Shore’s music from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and music by contemporary composer Samuel Hazo. Classic works will include John Barnes Chance’s “Variations on a Korean Folksong,” Jaime Texidor’s “Amparito Roca,” and the famous “Stars and Stripes Forever” march by John Philip Sousa.
