Study Tool Helps Students Navigate Literature in Biology

Assistant Professor of Biology Jennifer Round authored an education research paper that is featured in the Highlights of 2013 issue of CBE-Life Sciences Education. Every year a subset of CBE articles are selected to represent the breadth of work published in the journal and to be “exemplars of life science education research and evidence-based practice.” The paper, titled “Figure Facts: Encouraging Undergraduates to Take a Data Centered Approach to Reading Primary Literature,” describes a study tool developed by Dr. Round to help students navigate primary literature in biology. Dr. Round plans to introduce this study tool to BIO 102 students this Spring.
