The 2014 Job, Internship & Networking Fair took place Feb. 12 in the Floy Lewis Bakes Field House and attracted some 100 employers and hundreds of students. Sponsored by the Career and Professional Development Office, the event attracted a wide range of employers from Wegmans Food Markets to Moody’s Analytics to Variety Club Camp and Einstein Healthcare Network. Several Ursinus alumni represented their companies. Companies could search for interns, conduct an on campus interview, or screen resumes for open positions.
Carla Mollins Rinde, director of the Office of Career and Professional Development, said that Ursinus students “were striking – they looked professional and came prepared with refined resumes, tight interview techniques and powerful handshakes. Our employers were impressed and enjoyed meeting such accomplished and approachable students.” Employers were also grateful for an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff prior to the fair, she noted.
The annual event “helps students to connect with employers offering quality internships and jobs,” said Sharon Hansen, Ursinus associate director for employer relations. “It also provides a way for younger students to explore the world of work. By speaking with employers, a number of whom were alumni, Ursinus students make powerful connections which help in the pursuit of internship and job opportunities.” More information on jobs and internships can be found on the Career and Professional Development Office web site.
