Two students continue the tradition of Ursinus College being recognized by the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation for academic achievement in the sciences or mathematics fields. Erica Gorenberg and Aubrey Paris, both 2015, were awarded Honorable Mention in the rigorous national competition. “This honor testifies to the excellent work these students have accomplished at Ursinus and continues the long tradition of recognition from the Goldwater,” said Associate Dean Greg Weight. Announced by home state, they are among 16 students from New Jersey to have attained an Honorable Mention.
Aubrey is a major in Chemistry and Biology, and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in organic chemistry with research interests in alternative energy strategies involving catalysts.
Erica is a Biology major with plans to pursue a Ph. D. in neurobiology with research interests in the neurobiology of disease and neurodegeneration.
